James Hardie was so easy to work with, both interpersonally and professionally. His availability was amazing for our urgent request, fitting us in between two others on short notice. Finding a painter in Bend has its challenges so I was relieved when a friend recommended James. His bid was very fair compared to the others we got from the biggest paint companies in town, also the others were booking out several months and our HOA gave us only a few weeks deadline. We needed our shingles cleaned and stained in addition to a full exterior paint job. His work was beyond what weâ d expected, he was more concerned with doing a perfect job than we were on our own home! He took time to do two coats of exterior paint which transformed the look of our home which had 15 years of single coat paint. He even did some repair work on our siding that had severe water damage. I cannot recommend Hardie Finishes enough. He may be laidback and easygoing but he works so hard and the results are beautiful. Thanks James!

James painted our vacation house in Sunriver. I was somewhat nervous given that I could not be present during the process. Great experience with this business. Had our cedar siding re-stained and over the years had different weather fading due to the direction of how our home faces, mostly west-Southwest. (wind, rain, dust and yes hail at times) James was very thorough in reviewing our needs and coming up with a plan and color match to keep our stain & trim color consistent around the whole house. We had a gutter clogged in one of our roof valleys and without any question cleaned it out as to keep the overflow from running down the siding which would cause staining. Its the little extra things such as this that will keep us using Them. Its all in the name Hardie Finishes! Thank you for a job well done, we love it.

Also painted all the trim, helped replace an old outside door, painted the doors on the outside of the house. All look incredible. We are very pleased with how the house turned out. It went very well. The next time I need interior or exterior work, I'll call James. He is knowledgeable because he is EXPERIENCED. Not only is he very skilled in his workmanship, but he is honest, ethical. Both my husband and I felt we could trust him. He's been doing this kind of work for a long time....many buildings. You wouldn't hire a surgeon that hadn't performed the particular surgery you need unless he could show he has done that very procedure many, many times. Same thing applies here. The pricing is fair. You get what you pay for.
SERVICES PERFORMED: For starters...a bay of 1924 wooden windows were refinished/ painted. They had to be stripped, sanded, some metal parts straightened. They are nearly water tight now...only wind from a certain direction still permits some moisture. I had had difficulty finding a window company that would sell, install and guarantee water tight windows. So I chose to go w/ James who told me up front he would do his best and the situation would be much improved. IT IS. I'm satisfied i made the correct choice.
James refinished an Ipe wooden deck. It had been refinished by someone prior to James who used the incorrect product for that type of very hard wood. James showed he is knowledgeable.

SERVICES PERFORMED: We hired Hardie Finishes to paint our condo in preparation to sell it. James and his team did every room in the place (just over 13oo square feet), including some ceilings, wainscoting down a lengthy hallway and all of the kitchen cabinets.
The process started with a thorough walk through of the condo, where James asked lots of questions about what we specifically wanted to do. We were coordinating with a stage on color direction for rooms and trims (Victorian details), which he seamlessly incorporated in to his work. In one case, he took a critical look at the stage's plan and recommended an alternative that turned out much better!
Once we decided on the full plan and the timing, James and his crew were as professional as they come. They showed up on time every day, did exactly what they said they were going to do, contacted us with questions as they came up, and finished the job a day early and right on budget. We were impressed with the quality of the work and the integrity of the team.
In the stressful time before selling our home, Hardie Finishes turned out to be great partners that made this huge step run smoothly. There are people who charge a little less, but you probably won't get the clean lines, sanded walls, proper [oil] paint on the trims...the difference of what you get for your money is huge.
